Our Family Christmas Photos in NYC 2017

Sending out Holiday cards is quickly becoming one of my favorite holiday traditions and this year we took our first real family Christmas photos.  Last year for Christmas we sent out newborn pictures of  our baby Alice, and the year before that we sent out Christmas "Thank You" cards from our wedding. So this year, we got to take real Christmas family photos, coordinated outfits and everything.  I was so excited that the timing of our trip to New York was right in time for the East Coast brightly colored fall season.  a bright fall is somewhat of a wonder to us Californians since our fall is pretty much summer continued.

Originally, my plan was to bring my own tripod camera bluetooth and shoot on my own, but my darling husband, knowing how much it meant to me to get photos together, approved in me hiring a photographer for an hour to snap some professional photos.  We were so lucky to book an hour of time with super talented Brin Hansen.  She was such a trooper to bear the cold and patiently wait for us, as we were a half hour late to our appointment.  Note to self* ALWAYS give yourself an HOUR when you have to be anywhere on time in NYC.

We decided to go with more formal outfits based on my dress.  As soon as I saw this Yumi Kim Woodstock maxi dress it instantly became my "dream dress".  Poppies are my favorite flowers and paired with a long circle skirt gown it is truly a dream.  I couldn't help but spin around the park all afternoon.  The day of our photoshoot was freezing!  I wore my favorite wool wrap coast from Mango (available in this years collection here) to shield myself from the cold.  I wore my favorite signature red lipstick that I have worn for years called Russian Red by Mac.  Poor Alice Lucille's little nose turned red and she was shivering, but she was such a trooper during the photoshoot.  I love all of the candid photos of her little chiclet smile. I got her red lace dress and all the outfit details from baby gap, including these super cute leopard print booties which are on sale right now.  To match our crimson dresses, Taylor wore a red tie  with his black John Varvatos suit.

I really like how all of our pictures turned out and the matching details in our outfits.  I ordered my Christmas cards from Costco this year and they turned out really well.  They were made from a nice card stock and were printed in high resolution so that the picture quality remained in tact.  The best part was that I only paid $35 for 50 Christmas cards!  Last year I paid three times as much so I was happy to save some money this year and still get a great quality card.  I hope you like them too!  Happy Holidays from my family to yours!

Love,

Sofia
